A Storied Space
110 E. Clayton Street has spent generations at the center of Athens business and social life. Built as an office space in 1913 by William S. Holman, the building was reimagined seven years later into the Holman Hotel — 168 rooms, a coffee shop, a banquet facility. In the 1960s, Citizens & Southern National Bank moved in, later becoming NationsBank, then Bank of America.
Now, Indigo Road Hospitality Group and THOREAU CAPITAL are bringing hospitality back to this historic location. Designed by David Thompson Studio, Oak pairs the building's original details, restored chandeliers, wood cubicles, the former bank vault now an intimate private dining room, with a marble-topped wraparound bar. The past, still setting the atmosphere for memorable dining experience.

The Menu
Oak's kitchen blends classic steakhouse tradition with a contemporary approach: raw bar offerings, elevated starters, shareable sides, and Certified Angus Beef® brand Prime steaks topped with lobster tail, crab oscar, or truffle porcini butter.
Starters include Deviled Crab Dip with chili crunch, Grilled Quail with boiled peanut mole, and Heirloom Squash with golden raisin agrodolce. Entrées range from Heritage Pork Chop with mountain apple butter to a seasonal market catch.
MenusAn extensive wine program spans New World reds and Old World classics, pairings not found elsewhere in Athens. Alongside it, handcrafted cocktails, a curated bourbon collection, and local and domestic beer.
